UNSTOPPABLE Cameron Beard blasted a double hat-trick to help Swanage Town & Herston make a rocket start to the Dorset Premier League campaign.

Beard's salvo, which included a 30-minute treble, was added to by Graeme Rose (2), Aaron Atkinson and Sam Beale as Swans stormed to a 10-1 triumph over Milborne Port at Day's Park.

The tone was set by a couple of neat finishes by Beard, before the frontman added another.

Striker Rose converted from the spot and Beard netted number five following good work from Perry Mullins, with Atkinson then directing home a cracking strike from the corner of the box.

The onslaught continued after the break, Beard heading home and wrapping up his double-hat-trick minutes later.

Beale made it nine and Beard hit the woodwork before Milborne substitute Dean Stokes pulled one back, only for Rose to complete the rout in the dying embers.

Parley Sports surrendered a two-goal lead as they shared a draw with Gillingham Town.

A Matt Newbery brace appeared to put the visitors in control but Gillingham hit back with a couple of goals to ensure the fixture ended 2-2.

Facing opponents whose ranks were depleted, Parley were given an early chance to take the lead when a cross was handled in the box and a penalty was awarded.

Newbery made no mistake from the spot and his team were ahead with a quarter of an hour on the clock.

The lead was soon doubled, Newbery getting ahead of his marker to guide a dangerous cross expertly into the net.

Gillingham fought their way back into proceedings and 10 minutes before half-time they got a goal of their own when a free-kick took a deflection and beat the keeper.

The home side improved in the second period and Elliot Bevis and Harry Smith caused plenty of problems for the Parley defence.

A penalty appeal for Gillingham was waved away but with 15 minutes left, they finally were given a spot-kick after Smith was fouled.

Bevis stepped up and coolly placed the ball in the corner, with protests by Parley players resulting in the sin bin being used for the first time at Harding’s Lane.

Despite the man advantage, Gillingham could not find a winner and were forced to defend frantically in the last few minutes to remain level.

Meanwhile, skipper and centre-half Richard Parsons was forced to don the gloves for Wareham Rangers as they won 2-1 against Westland Sports.

A goal down at the break, Wareham turned matters round after substitute Will Bartley struck twice in the final 15 minutes.

Elsewhere, Hamworthy United reserves were thumped 6-0 at Mere Town and Hamworthy Recreation triumphed in a 4-3 thriller at Merley.

Asa Phillips and Dan Edwards put Merley 2-0 up, only for Chris Long to pull one back.

Midway through the first half, Ali Garard levelled but Merley restored their lead after the break, Edwards heading home his second.

But a long-range strike from Ash Boyt put Hamworthy on terms and with four minutes remaining, striker Long tapped home from close range.
