DANIELLE Broom claimed a personal best and two gold medals at the South-West Schools’ Championships in Exeter.
Rankings-leader Broom secured a 41.68m intermediate girls discus victory and boosted her hammer best to sixth in the national standings with a throw of 58.22m.
Caitlin Batcheldor won the junior hammer (44.48m) but had to settle for discus silver (32.65m).
Ellie White’s 43.34m gained silver in the senior girls’ hammer, while shot-putter Tamsin Miller placed second with 12.74m.
Olivia Hunter (senior 100m hurdles, 15.05s), Grace Copeland (intermediate 1500m, 4:49.85), Tom Bourne (intermediate 3000m, 9:08.77) and Lloyd Arnold (junior 300m, 39.37s) all secured gold on the track.
Robinson Okumu gained a speedy intermediate 200m silver in 22.04s, while Amelia Davis missed out on gold by just 0.03 of a second over 300m (41.94s).
