SWANAGE & Wareham's South West One East troubles continued as they were beaten 32-20 by fellow strugglers High Wycombe.

Cameron Baker kicked High Wycombe ahead early on but Swans fly-half Phil Graves replied with a penalty.

Soon after, Swans spun the ball along the three-quarters on the halfway line but High Wycombe number 10 Matt Wardle intercepted and ran in under the posts. Baker added the extras.

Five minutes before the break, Graves pulled back three points for Swans but in the closing seconds of the half, another interception try allowed the visitors to seize a 17-6 advantage.

Following the resumption, Baker slotted a penalty between the uprights and just after the hour, High Wycombe barged over the line and number eight Simon Hawkins came up with the ball.

Swans were 25-6 down and their response was to work their way into the visitors' 22 with a couple of penalties. From a scrum, the ball was fed to centre Matt Roberts and he scored close to the posts, with Graves adding the extras.

Any hopes of a comeback were swiftly dashed, though, as Wardle cut through the defence to cross the whitewash and Baker converted.

In the closing moments, a couple of well-worked phases allowed Swans' Roberts to go over in the corner for his second try. Graves added the extras.

Meanwhile, Swans' second string were hammered 46-0 by Oakmeadians in Dorset & Wilts One South and the third team triumphed 24-7 at Dorchester III in Dorset & Wilts Three South.
