NEW recruit Juan Iturbe is this week expected to link up with Cherries after finally putting the finishing touches to his move to Vitality Stadium.

Iturbe is likely to train with Eddie Howe’s squad before officially completing the formalities to his loan once the transfer window has re-opened on Saturday.

The 22-year-old winger will spend the remainder of the season with Cherries after a fee of around £1.1million was agreed with Italian club Roma.

As part of the deal, Cherries would also have the option to sign Iturbe permanently in the summer, with a fee in the region of £16m having been reported.

Iturbe will be named in Eddie Howe’s Premier League squad when it is re-declared but will not be eligible to feature against Leicester on Saturday.

He will also need to be granted a work permit to play in England and will require international clearance from the FA.

Iturbe, who was born in Argentina and raised in Paraguay, played 60 minutes of Roma’s Coppa Italia penalty shootout victory over Spezia on December 16.

Meanwhile, Football Italia have reported Cherries are set to renew their interest in Napoli’s Jonathan De Guzman.

The 28-year-old Dutch international had been on the verge of a move to Dorset in August before the deal fell through at the 11th hour.

Football Italia have also claimed Cherries are in “advanced negotiations” for De Guzman’s Napoli team-mate Juan Camilo Zuniga.

However, another Italian website - Gazzetta World - today reported that De Guzman’s proposed loan to Dean Court is unlikely to happen.

“Jonathan has many admirers in the Premier League, Germany and also in Italy,” his agent Fabio Parisi revealed to Radio Kiss Kiss.

“Unfortunately, he is currently suffering from some minor physical problems, albeit, to a very slight extent.

“He understands that we need to find a solution. We will see if the solution will be permanent or just temporary. “Either way, we are in contact with Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Guintoli every day.”
