UNCONFIRMED reports suggest Cherries goalkeeper Artur Boruc could be facing a spell on the sidelines due to injury.

Boruc, who started the season as Cherries’ first choice, returned from international duty with Poland last month nursing a knee problem.

The 35-year-old featured in their 3-1 friendly win over Czech Republic in Wroclaw on November 17 before reporting back to the Vitality Stadium with a swollen knee.

Boruc was due to see a specialist this week with reports in Poland claiming he may need an operation, which could rule him out until the new year.

Cherries are also awaiting news on Adam Federici who sustained an ankle injury during Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Everton.

Federici landed awkwardly after just 17 minutes and eventually succumbed at half-time when he was replaced by Ryan Allsop.

It was Allsop’s first league appearance for Cherries since October 2013, although he did play 27 times during a loan spell at Coventry last season.

Speculation Cherries could be facing a goalkeeping crisis intensified yesterday when teenage stopper Jordan Holmes was recalled from a loan spell at Weymouth.
