MACIEJ Janowski’s place in next year’s Speedway Grand Prix was confirmed during this evening’s Scandinavian GP in Stockholm.

The Poole Pirates star needed Matej Zagar to guarantee his place in the overall top eight in the 2014 world championship, which the Slovenian achieved.

Even if the ninth-placed Freddie Lindgren notches a 21-point maximum in the final round in Torun, Poland, then he would still be at least a point adrift of Zagar.

Zagar previously won the Grand Prix Challenge but now qualifies for next year’s circuit by right.

Janowski finished fourth in the GP Challenge, one place out of the automatic qualification spots.

Ringwood-based Aussie and Pirates asset Chris Holder was fourth in the final of tonight's meeting in Sweden.

Holder has a six-point cushion in the top eight heading into the final round in Torun.
