CO-MANAGER Graham Speechley-Price insists Bashley will not stand in the way of Matt Oldring’s move to Dorchester – despite believing the defender is worthy of a bigger move.

Speechley-Price revealed that Magpies had served a seven-day approach for the ex-Cherries apprentice on Thursday with Bash braced for Oldring’s exit.

“There have been a few clubs watching Matt and I thought we may have received some interest from clubs at Conference level,” said Speechley-Price.

“But, if Dorchester are lucky enough to persuade him to transfer, I am sure he will make the step up with ease. He has been a model player and proved himself to be a real winner.

“We were pleased to give him his opportunity and he has shown a wider audience what a fantastic player he is. We would like him to stay but we also want the club to act as a stepping stone for players to progress while remaining competitive.”
