POOLE Town coach Taffy Richardson predicts Josh O’Hanlon’s “refreshing” approach to life in the lower reaches will pave the way for a bright future in the pro game.

The Cherries youngster, on loan at Tatnam until the end of the month, netted his first goal for Dolphins in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Paulton Rovers.

And Richardson, a legend of more than 1,000 semi-professional appearances, hailed the Irish striker’s attitude since making his temporary switch to the non-league ranks.

Richardson told the Daily Echo: “Every time he comes off the pitch, he looks disappointed not to have scored more goals but he is fitting in so well and typifies the team’s spirit at the moment.

“You see so many young players at professional clubs who are so full of themselves but Josh is nothing like that, he is his own worst critic and his enthusiasm and will to get better is infectious.

“He might be raw but with a bit of fine tuning I think Bournemouth will have a proper player in the future.”

O’Hanlon is set to lead the line as Poole host newly-promoted Cirencester Town tomorrow (7.45pm).

Long-term absentees Marvin Brooks and Keith Emmerson (both ankle) both miss out but boss Tom Killick has no fresh injury concerns.
