(UPDATED) AFC Bournemouth: Howe set to swoop for teenage striker O'Hanlon
CHERRIES are set to complete the signing of highly-rated teenage striker Josh O’Hanlon from League of Ireland outfit Longford Town.
The 18-year-old Dubliner impressed boss Eddie Howe and his staff during a recent trial at Dean Court with the two clubs this week having agreed a fee.
O’Hanlon, who has also finalised terms on a three-and-a-half year deal, is due to arrive in Dorset on Tuesday to watch Cherries’ Championship clash with Huddersfield.
He netted seven times in 30 appearances for Longford as they finished runners-up to Athlone Town in Division One of the League of Ireland.
O’Hanlon also netted twice in a trial game for Manchester United and had been tracked by Crystal Palace, Burnley, Reading and Peterborough.
A statement on the Longford Town website read: “Longford Town FC wish to announce that they have concluded an agreement with AFC Bournemouth to transfer Josh O’Hanlon for an undisclosed fee.
“All at Longford Town FC would like to thank Josh for his time at the club and the wonderful goals he scored. We also take this opportunity to wish Josh the best of luck with his future career.”
