BOURNEMOUTH’S double Muay Thai boxing world champion Denise Castle will have her title success televised by the Extreme Sports Channel this week.
A deal has been struck for the channel to show highlights of the Muay Thai World Series, which is based at the O2 in Boscombe, for the next two years.
The combat sport involves competitors fighting with their fists, shins, knees and elbows with the new event bringing together some of the world’s top competitors.
Castle added the S1 crown to her WBC title when she beat Thailand’s Loma Sitjaou at the end of the first series in November, a triumph which will be broadcast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night from 10-11pm.
Wins for fellow Bournemouth fighters Liam Barker, George Worthington and Sarah Blewden should also feature in the channel’s first showing.
Extreme Sports can be found on Sky channel 419 or Virgin Media channel 527. The second Muay Thai World Series is scheduled to take place at the O2 in March.
