POOLE Town’s hopes of a boost to the Tatnam coffers were dealt a blow this morning when Charlie Austin’s move to Hull City was called off.
Dolphins' hopes of receiving a chunk of Swindon Town's sell-on fee from Burnley are on hold as Austin's protracted move from Turf Moor suddenly stalled.
As reported by the Hull Daily Mail this morning, the £4.5million move took a dramatic twist with the Tigers pulling out of the deal due to "unforeseen complications" late last night.
City have remained tight-lipped over the stumbling block but are expected to make a statement over their change of heart today.
A Burnley statement read: "Burnley striker Charlie Austin will not be joining Hull City after unforeseen complications halted a proposed move to the KC Stadium.
"Austin, 24, remains a Burnley player and the club will make no further comment at his time."
Austin, who earned his move to the professional ranks after a prolific spell in the Wessex League with Poole, has been repeatedly linked with a transfer this summer.
The striker, whose family live in Westbourne, has one year remaining on his Burnley contract.
