PARLEY maintained their flying start to the season by racking up an eighth straight victory over bottom club Dorchester.

Roshan Embalagama's runaway leaders were set a challenging target of 218 runs by the struggling visitors but made light work of the total to win by six wickets.

The home side even shrugged off the first ball dismissal of Mark Morley for a duck after the opener was clean bowled by visiting skipper Dan Belt (1-55).

But despite the early setback, there was no stopping Sam Collins (61) and Tom Jacques (53) from putting on their second-wicket partnership of 101 runs.

And Parley ensured another victory when Embalagama (48*) teamed up with Sam Thomson (19*) for an unbeaten 66 to ease past Dorchester's respectable total.

Captain Belt had top scored for the visitors with 55 while opener Pete Moxom (39) also performed well, but tight bowling from Thomson (2-14), who managed two maidens from his 10 overs, kept the score down.

  • Skipper Eric Linge led the way as Ferndown Wayfarers returned to second spot with a six-wicket victory at Stalbridge.

Linge, who blasted his team's ten-wicket defeat at Parley last week, took four wickets as the hosts were skittled for 175 runs.

Ferndown laboured on 38 for two in response following James Raftery's dismissal for a duck, but Linge's unbeaten 66, including partnerships of 43 with Dean Elsworthy (44) and 69 with Neil Sexton (23), proved pivotal.

Linge's impressive knock came from just 78 balls and included six fours and three sixes.

  • Swanage secured a narrow victory over Poole Town thanks to a pair of well-timed batting partnerships.

Matt Thomas (53) and Mike Salmon (37) plundered 82 but the Swans were in danger of collapse when they lost the next five wickets for just 24 runs.

However, Jem Warner (47) and Mike Nash (25*) saved the day with a match-winning 75 with Poole unable to muster their target of 224.

Swanage restricted their visitors to 158 for eight before tail-ender Dave Miller produced an unlikely 43, but the hosts held out to win by 14 runs as Poole's overs whittled away.

  • Broadstone's stellar start saw them make light work of Weymouth at Redlands.

Openers Luke Carter (29) and Pete Russell (77) put 68 on for the opening wicket before Sean Hatton (75*) teamed up with Russell for another 87.

Weymouth's Will McKay (2-42) briefly stifled the momentum, but Broadstone's total of 227 for four always looked likely to win the match.

And so it proved as Steve Trembath (3-25) and James Rimmer (2-22) set about their task with gusto.

Paul Payne (24) and Ben Lawes (32) started well enough for Weymouth, and although Matt Lawes (18*) carried the fight, the hosts were all-out for 151.
