ASSISTANT manager Jason Tindall deflected praise to Cherries’ players as he looked back on the club’s “unbelievable achievement”.

Together with boss Eddie Howe, Tindall returned to Dean Court from Burnley in October to help mastermind Cherries’ revival.

The duo led Cherries clear of the League One relegation zone before guiding the Dorset outfit to promotion to the Championship.

Cherries were denied the title on a dramatic final day to the season but Tindall insisted that should not detract from an “amazing” campaign.

He told the Daily Echo: “Our goal before the Tranmere game was to win and win the league but it did not quite happen for us.

“We were in the relegation zone when we arrived and if anybody had said we would have |been promoted with a game to go, you would never have believed them.

“The lads and everybody have put in a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication. Our attitude has been absolutely fantastic to every training session and every game that we have played. No group of players deserves it more than the group we have got here.

“Although we are disappointed because we wanted to win the league, let’s let that disappoint go and really think about and celebrate what has been an amazing season and an incredible journey.”
