PIRATES chief Matt Ford has recalled Wimborne Road favourite Dennis Andersson as cover for injured Pole Robert Miskowiak.

Andersson has been drafted in as a 28-day temporary replacement and will line up in Poole’s Elite League clash with Wolves on Wednesday.

The Swedish under-21 champion missed the final six weeks of last season after breaking his femur during a track spill in Poland in August.

Miskowiak has been ruled out after undergoing thigh surgery, the 29-year-old sustaining the injury during the second leg of Poole’s Elite Shield clash with Swindon on Good Friday.

Ford told the club website: “Robert’s in-jury was clearly far more serious than we had thought and, when I spoke to him on Sunday, he informed me that his recuperation period was more than a couple of weeks away.

“Rather than go with rider replacement, I have invited Dennis back for a 28-day period and he will be in our side for the Wolves meeting.

“I am extremely grateful to Dave Watt who has agreed to loan Dennis some equipment as this whole thing has been something of a whirlwind to organise.

“Dennis is really looking forward to coming back to Poole. He was disappointed to have been forced to miss the end of last season and I know he is really keen to go out there and prove to one and all just what a capable rider he is.

“Dennis knows that we will be respecting Robert’s contract when he is fully fit and this arrangement is only for a limited period but it does put him in the shop window again.”
