NEW MILTON seem certain to finish in the bottom two after a 3-1 home defeat to Hamworthy United on Saturday.
Stefan Penny’s brace alongside Greg Horlock’s strike sealed Hammers’ victory over a Linnets side that were forced to play striker Simon De’ath in goal due to a player shortage.
Hammers boss Simon Browne added: “Both sides did all they could and played in the right spirit but there was no real football played in atrocious conditions.
“We got the ball forward as quickly as possible and profited from mistakes.”
New Milton Town: De’ath, Blackburn, Booker, Curtis, Donaldson (Sampays, 65), Egerton, Embree, Holloway, Pidgley, Proctor, Roberts.
Hamworthy United: Knights, Carlile (Wood, 60), Head, Horlock, Murray, Penny, Staines, Sturgess, Bradley (Bassiriki, 70), Pekun (Hollingworth, 75), Wyatt.
