CHERRIES star Matt Ritchie carved his name in the Football League records books after being voted League One player of the year.
Ritchie, who joined Cherries from Swindon in January, received the award at a gala ceremony at The Brewery in London on Sunday.
The 23-year-old became the first player to win the accolade for two different divisions having been crowned League Two player of the year last season.
Ritchie, who has made 11 appearances for Cherries, said: “I was surprised to be in the top three so, to win the award, I am speechless. It is very satisfying.”
John Harriss was recognised for his services to Cherries and picked up the divisional Unsung Hero award, despite missing out on the overall award. Cherries were also voted League One's family club of the year.
