POOLE Town boss Tom Killick has urged his title contenders to seize their big chance over the festive period – by making their resources count.

Killick has the luxury of a virtually full-strength squad heading in to a potentially defining set of matches over Christmas and new year.

Dolphins have flexed their muscles in recent weeks to hit the top of the Southern League Division One South & West standings.

With five successive victories – and 11 unanswered goals in their past three victories – Poole appear to be hitting form at an ideal stage.

Killick believes the key to that has been the availability of his players – with Poole largely managing to steer clear of injuries and suspensions.

And he is hoping they can maintain their push for honours at Clevedon Town tomorrow (3pm).

Killick told the Daily Echo: “The players seem to have a determination and confidence about them and we are on a good run.

“The thing we can’t underestimate is that we have got pretty much everyone fit and available. You have got to try to take advantage of the periods when that happens because there are likely to be other periods where we will probably be a bit depleted.”

Such has been the depth of Poole’s resources in recent weeks, they did not even include the likes of Karim Lammali, Steve Brown and Lamin Dibba in their matchday squad for Tuesday’s thumping 4-0 win at Didcot. Their only injury concern is goalkeeper Nick Hutchings, who is set to miss the Clevedon clash due to a hamstring problem. Roy Emmerson, brother of defender Keith, is poised to continue between the sticks.
