BASHLEY boss Frank Gray believes rookie goalkeeper Stuart Moore could build a bright footballing future.

Gray has been impressed with the young stopper since drafting him in on loan from Premier League outfit Reading. Moore made eight starts for the New Foresters before being sidelined by a thigh strain in recent weeks.

But Gray reported that the keeper was set to return for the home clash with high-fliers Stourbridge tomorrow (3pm).

Ex-professional Gray, who earned 32 Scotland caps and won several trophies including the European Cup during a fine career, rates Moore highly.

“I have been very pleased with him,” said the former Leeds and Nottingham Forest star. “He has got very good potential and a good future in the game. He is a young lad and is learning very quickly.”

Bash had won their past three league matches prior to a 3-1 defeat at Banbury United on Saturday.

That setback left Gray’s men six points off the play-offs and six ahead of the relegation places.

Gray added: “We were on a decent run but just didn’t play as well as we had been. I am not going to get too alarmed about it.”

Josh Casey is also set to return after sitting out the match in Banbury due to illness.
