MANAGER Frank Gray insists Bashley must get their own house in order on the pitch and says there will be no room for sympathy when they host crisis-hit St Albans City tomorrow (3pm).

The Saints arrive in the New Forest just days after boss David Howell and his management team were sacked and respected journalist and author Ian Ridley stepped down as chairman.

Howell left his post on Monday with St Albans sitting just a point shy of the Southern League Premier Division play-off places, while Ridley’s resignation was apparently due to his opposition to a move to increase ticket prices.

However, despite the visitors’ problems, Gray says addressing Bashley’s indifferent home form is his only concern as they look to improve on 13th place in the table following three wins from seven games at the Recreation Ground.

Gray told the Daily Echo: “We have got to concentrate on our own performance and forget about what is going on anywhere else. Irrespective of what is happening at St Albans, we know it is going to be a tough game. We’ve not done as well as we would have liked at home and must improve on that.”

Asked whether he wished to comment on the situation at St Albans, Gray added: “We have seen time and again how these things can galvanise players.

“You don’t know from afar what is going on at other clubs and it is not for anybody else to talk about.”

Reading loan goalkeeper Stuart Moore is still unavailable for Bash, although midfielder Liam Green returns to the squad.
