WIMBORNE captain Steve King has revealed the simple ingredient in his team’s prolific recipe: Hard work.

King’s men are flying high in Southern Counties South this term after racking up an impressive 342 points in eight league matches.

Comfortably the division’s leading scorers, Wimborne have averaged more than 40 per game ahead of tomorrow’s home showdown with Weymouth.

With six wins and two defeats so far, they will be aiming to enhance that record in the Dorset derby.

Explaining the secret to his team’s success, skipper King said: “It is just down to hard work in training and setting a game-plan and keeping to it.

“All the lads are pulling together and working hard for each other.”

Wimborne are sitting pretty in second position, just three points off the summit.

And King, 25, believes the club’s future is looking bright.

He added: “We have got a really young squad and in our last cup match, we played six 18 year olds.

“In a couple of years, we are going to have a very strong side. We have more colts to come through next year.”
