BEMUSED boss Graham Kemp slammed the standard of refereeing after Christchurch had been hit by late penalty misery.

Kemp claimed two of the three match officials “were not up to standard” during high-flying Priory’s 1-1 draw at Fawley on Saturday.

Manager Kemp criticised referee Collins Benin after he had awarded a controversial spot kick in the Wessex Premier clash.

When contacted by the Daily Echo, Benin politely declined to comment.

Kemp, meanwhile, described the call as the “most unbelievable decision I have seen in football”. He added: “We thought it was a free-kick to us and he pointed to the spot. It was bemusing.”

Discussing the referee, Kemp said: “From the first minute to the last, he was inept.”

Dan Thompson opened the scoring for Priory before Fawley converted their spot kick, but the draw was enough for Christchurch to regain top spot.
