MANAGER Steve Cuss will be keen to see Wimborne Town avoid an FA Trophy hangover when they visit Verwood Town in the Dorset Senior Cup tonight.

The Magpies followed up their impressive Southern League Cup win over Bashley with a dismal showing against Merthyr Town in the second qualifying round on Saturday.

And Cuss’s men will be looking to bounce back from their 5-1 mauling by the Martyrs when they face Wessex League Verwood in a second round tie at Potterne Park (7.45pm).

Cuss said: “I am delighted with the season so far and the players have done fantastically well up to this point. We have got to get over Saturday’s defeat and it is important we learn from it.”

Wimborne’s former Cherries midfielder George Webb could come face to face with his younger brother Jon Webb who has been named in the Verwood squad.
