The testing road to the Cheltenham Festival in March starts at Wincanton next month for some of the country’s leading hurdlers, and you could be there to enjoy the racing action when the feature race will be the StanJames.com Elite Hurdle, the opening leg of the StanJames.com Road To Cheltenham race series.

Run over a distance of 2 miles, the Elite Hurdle gives trainers the chance to get a first run of the season into their hurdlers and with over £30,000 on offer to the winner this Grade 2 contest takes centre stage on the Wincanton racecard. Notable winners include Well Chief and Celestial Hero, with local trainer Paul Nicholls having won the race six times, most recently with Zarkandar in 2012.

We’ve teamed up with big race sponsor StanJames.com to offer 5 readers the chance to win a pair of Premier Enclosure tickets for Saturday 8 November. One of the lucky winners will also receive two StanJames.com polo shirts, jackets, umbrellas and caps.
