Five candidates are contesting the Christchurch parliamentary seat. They are:
Andy Canning, Liberal Democrat
Mr Canning has been a Local Councillor in Dorset since 1999 and was Mayor of Dorchester in 2012. He has stood twice before for election to Parliament, is married and has one son, aged 17.
Christopher Chope, Conservative
Conservative candidate Christopher Chope is married to Christine and has two children, Antonia and Philip. Mr Chope has represented Christchurch since 1997.

Green candidate Shona Dunn is a mother of four, hypnotherapist and psychology student.

Robin Grey, UKIP
UKIP candidate Robin Grey was born in Lancashire, qualified as a social worker in 1980 and later started up his own business.

Andrew Satherley, Labour
Representing Labour, Andrew Satherley grew up in Christchurch and attended Highcliffe school and sixth form. He completed his education in health economics at York university.
