One person has been taken to hospital after a crash at the Ashley Heath interchange.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene at 8.30am where it was believed that four cars were involved in the collision.

All four cars were blocking one lane and the hard shoulder on the A31 eastbound, between the Spur Road turn-off and the A338 towards Fordingbridge.

One patient was taken to Royal Bournemouth Hospital with minor injuries, a spokesperson for the South Central Ambulance Service told the Daily Echo.

They sent two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles to the scene where six others were treated.

No one else required hospital care.

The collision caused delays of at least 30 minutes for people travelling northbound on the Spur Road.

The collision has now been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
