THERE’S a bit of good news for the private motorist in general and the transport sector in particular as fuel prices head towards their lowest level for three years.

The fall reflects the reduction in the price of wholesale crude oil and the strengthening of the pound – another reason to celebrate the result of the ‘NO’ vote in Scotland.

Petrol retailers have, on this occasion, been swift to pass on the savings, providing one less reason for the hard pressed consumer to feel ripped off.

Perhaps the energy companies might like to take note.
