RICHARD Carr's nightclub and bar company Future 3000 transferred £1.4 million to his property business before it went into administration this summer, it has emerged.

And Mr Carr removed all the cash funds from its venues, including Bliss and Toko - totalling £243,500 - in an attempt to deal with other debts the week before the firm was placed into administration, a report by joint administrator Deloitte says.

Those debts included one to another of his own companies.

Mr Carr says he is seeking legal advice over the administrator's report, which outlines the business's financial position to creditors.

Future 3000 Plc went into administration owing around £7.5m. Mr Carr's property company Ravine Lifestyle subsequently collapsed, with eight sites in Canford Cliffs and Poole worth £35m.

Ravine's obligations to the Clydesdale Bank were "cross-guaranteed" by the bar and club business.

Future 3000 has 523 potential unsecured creditors, mainly trade suppliers, who are owed a total of £1.8m. They are not expected to see any of their money.

Deloitte's joint administrator's report states: "At the date of our appointment Future 3000 Plc had advanced c.£1.4m to Ravine Lifestyle Ltd.

"The situation regarding the company further deteriorated when Mr Carr removed all cash funds (sales takings and cash floats of £243,504.25) from the venues for the week prior to the appointment of the joint administrators and applied the removed funds to debts due to either himself or to a company under his control."

Mr Carr, 49, said that he would be seeking legal advice because he was not happy with the way the report was worded.

He said: "The £1.4m is the crux of the problem.

"As sales slowed down, Future 3000 advanced money to help Ravine's cashflow which had deteriorated as consumer confidence eroded.

"It is correct that I did authorise the payment of £243,000 which was owed to creditors, one of which was one of my companies, which was landlord of Crank, because its rent was in arrears."

He added that following this, cash reserves at Future 3000 dried up.

"It's a sad story," he added.

Five Future 3000 bars - Bliss, Toko and Crank in Bournemouth and Mint and Dundee's in Poole - were purchased by Yellowhammer Bars earlier this month for £2.46 million.

The deal has secured the jobs of all bar and management staff.
