BOSCOMBE'S property renaissance continues apace with £14 million worth of apartments selling at one luxury development in just two months.

Apartments at The Reef - a £20 million development on Boscombe Spa Road - are currently selling at the rate of two per week.

There is particularly strong interest from London buyers looking for a second home or investment property.

Penthouses ranging from £500,000 to £925,000 are in big demand with four close to being sold at time of going to press.

More than 400 people visited The Reef during the first three days of its launch in late March.

It was built by Roxan Construction. Managing director Massoud Yeganegy said: "We are proud of this luxury development and expected the interest to be high.

"Buyers in the area are recognising that Boscombe is up and coming," he added.

Bournemouth estate agent Stephen Noble added: "Sales at The Reef are continuing strongly.

"There is increasing interest from the London market as the artificial reef and other regeneration plans such as the Pier and Opera House become a reality.

"There is no doubt that Boscombe has been revived as an area."

The Reef comprises 56 two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses, some with spectacular sea views over the Purbecks and the Isle of Wight.

The penthouses also have smart homes technology installed so owners can control heating, lighting, music and TV at the touch of a button - even by remote access from their mobile phones. These systems can also be added to other apartments.

One couple living at The Reef is Sharn and Lisa Mentz.

Sharn said: "Both Lisa and I have always really wanted to live by the sea. We both work very hard during the week, so the opportunity to stroll along the beach in the evenings and at weekends is really appealing.

"The location of The Reef is perfect for this kind of lifestyle. We have been renting in the Bournemouth area for a year now, waiting for the right property which we believe we've finally found at The Reef."
