JOHN Dunkenfield from Poole took a picture of an Excelsior European Motorways coach being craned onto M.S. Blenheim at Oslo in 1959 when he was a Geography student doing a field work trip in the area.

The coaches were built by Thorneycroft Ltd in Southampton for the Fred Olsen Line on their regular liner service between Oslo and Newcastle. This coach has London to Moscow on the front but John doesn't think it was on that trip at the time.

Excelsior European Motorways was one of the Bournemouth concerns operating brands. Does anyone know why the coach was in Oslo?
