RITA HALL (nee Stott) of Bournemouth, recognised herself as well as some of her friends in Stanley Pretty's picture of the boys and girls choirs of St Michael's Primary School, West Cliff, Bournemouth, after they won major wins in the Bournemouth Music Festival circa 1951/52 printed on June 28.

Rita is in the front row, second from the left, and now lives in Charminster.

Hugh Ashley, son of Echo photographer Harry Ashley, also recognised himself in the middle of the back row. He remembered the competition as being fun. The competitions were then held in the Grand Hall of the Bournemouth Town Hall.

The children have been identified as follows, back row, left to right, two unknowns, Hugh Ashley, Eileen Harvey and an unknown.

Next row down, Jimmy Howell on the far left and Veronica Cumper on the far right. Third row down, six unknowns, David Gillet, Charlie Hathaway, three unknowns with Gillian Starks on the end. There is also a boy on each end just below this row, neither identified.

Fourth row down, three unknowns, Martin Burridge, Anne Bailey, Jacqueline?, Bobby Burridge, Mrs Knight, Mr Mansfield, Jane Jay, an unknown, Carol Line, Christine Stanley, two unknowns with Rita's friend the late Anne Collins on the end.
