Peter Horner, Patricia Taylor, Teresa Tilikos, Alan Richards, Douglas Pollock, Doreen Harding and Mrs M Partridge commented on Martin Huse's picture of Poole High Street thatched cottage printed on June 23.
Teresa's great grandfather had an old postcard of the cottage which was given to her with the caption, 'house now gone'.
Situated on the corner of the high street and Carter's Lane, the cottage was pulled down circa 1919 and a Woolworth's store was built on the site. It had wooden floor floors and a penny bizarre. Opposite was the drapers T Miles and Son.
Woolworth's then moved up the high street.
