David Medina contacted the Echo after seeing the two tone blue 1963 Rover sold by Hughes of Bournemouth printed on January 18.

He didn't know the owner of this particular model but said Hughes of Bournemouth were the franchise distributors for Rover for the Bournemouth area for years. The showroom was on the top of Poole Hill next door to the larger premises of Spinks Daimler showroom. Hughes then moved to bigger premises at Christchurch Road, Bournemouth.

At the time Bournemouth was known as the 'Queen of the Holiday Resort of the south' and the Rover was known as the 'bank manager's car'.
