Richard Stewart has identified the cadets in the 1981 picture of the Air Training Corps at Wareham printed on January 27. They are from left to right, Jamie Barrett, Hilary ?, Paul Andrews, Richard Stewart and Simon Dadson. Richard was then 13 years and six months, the official age for joining the cadets.
This was the first year the Air Training Corps took in girls for training. Before that it was boys only and girls were expected to join the Girl Guides. Their commanding officer was Peter Dix. Today he is in his mid 90s and walks into Wareham every day.
