John Stimson wondered if readers have any information on the Saugeen School in Bournemouth.
This old postcard shows pupils on the school’s playground and Boys’ Garden at the beginning of the last century.
John Galsworthy, author of the Forsythe Saga was a pupil for five years at Saugeen Primary School for Boys in Derby Road, Bournemouth.
He also sang in the choir at nearby St Swithun’s Church.
How long was the school in existence and what sort of pupils attended?
Was anyone else educated there who later became prominent in social and political circles?
