DOGS and cats at Dorset rescue centres are in need of forever homes.

Staff at Margaret Green Animal Rescue are hoping to find new families for three cats and three dogs.

Two-year-old Beagle Winston is looking for family who will be at home a lot of the time. He could live with another dog and older children but not with cats.

Kaiser, a “very handsome” eight-year-old German Shepherd would be best suited to a home with older children and owners who have experience of owning German Shepherds or other large breeds.

Ernie, a rough-coated Lurcher, is one to two-years-old and is sociable with other dogs so would be able to live with a similar-sized dog. He could also live with older children but not with cats or small furry animals.

Three felines looking for forever homes are Felix, Cookie, and Charles.

Felix, 13, is described as a “sweet gentleman” whose owner passed away. He would need to be the only pet in a quiet home.

Cookie, nearly two-years-old, is an “affectionate, homely girl” who should be able to live with a cat-friendly dog and older children.

And Charles, six, is one of the cattery’s more vocal residents, according to staff, but is a “sweet lad”. He might be able to live with children but would need to meet them first.

He would prefer to be the only pet in his new home.
