A CHEF who has cooked for a host of showbiz and sports stars is looking to start a pop up restaurant in Bournemouth or Poole called Talk, Eat, Laugh.

Rachel Muse retrained as a patisserie chef after graduating with a maths degree and finding no jobs on offer.

Over the past 20 years she has travelled around the world, preparing dishes for Formula 1 drivers, musicians, sportsmen and actors on private islands in the Caribbean and yachts in the Mediterranean.

Now the Salisbury-based chef is looking for premises for a new pop up in Bournemouth or Poole.

She said: “The aim is to provide interesting food that wouldn't be found on a restaurant menu in a relaxed social setting."

Rachel thinks that pop ups are helping to bridge the gap left by pubs. On average around 30 pubs are closing every week across the UK, according to latest figures.

"Pop ups offer opportunities for people to get together and socialise. I think the three most important things in life are to talk, eat and laugh. It is a bit like camping though, as you have to take everything with you!"

Rachel's wishlist includes a clean, fully-equipped, functioning kitchen within 10 meters of a room that can be used as a dining room with chairs and tables for around 15, 30 or 45 people.

Other requirements include nearby "nice" toilets and car parking, a place with a licence to serve alcohol (so wine can be included in the meal, otherwise it is BYO).

She adds: "It doesn't have to be fancy because we dress the tables to make the place look gorgeous.

"But we don't want to tread on anyone's toes so we wouldn't want to run a pop up in a village where there is already a pub that does a huge trade in food or a struggling pub/restaurant."

Rachel adds: "Anybody who suggests a venue we end up using will win two seats at the first pop up we do at that venue."
