If you can't resist an Easter egg hunt or trail, then we've got just the thing for you. Here are just some of the events taking place across the area for little kids (and big kids!)

Join in the fun at the Easter Family Fun Day at various locations at the Triangle on April 17 from 11am until 5pm. Organised by Bournemouth Town Centre Business Improvement District, the entertainment starts at 11am with the Funky Little Youth Singers and Dr Balloonman Show at midday. In the afternoon are the First Position School of Dance at 1pm and then Mr Merlin & Okey Dokey. Absolute Music Workshop is at 2.40pm, followed by the Funsters Show and Games at 4pm. Other activities include Shop Window Trail, face painting, arts and crafts and games at Kinder Active on Commercial Road.

Chapel Gate is to host an Easter family fun day. The event on Easter Sunday, will have an Easter egg hunt, a cake sale, bouncy castle, face painting, sporting activities and more. Call 01202 581933.

A free Easter Fun Day takes place in Boscombe on Saturday, April 15 from 12pm until 4pm. The event at Churchill Gardens, Walpole Road Park, features an egg hunt, fancy dress, spring crafts and fun and games.

The Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum hosts a jam-packed schedule of Alice in Wonderland themed activities including crafts, trails, workshops and competitions for children to do in the Easter holidays. Come for a tea party and dress up as your favourite character. Follow an Alice in Wonderland themed trial around the house and garden, play croquet with flamingos and fight with a Jabberwocky. There are also competitions to take part in to win art and craft supplies. Daily activities start from 10am until 1pm and cost from £2.50 - £3. Become a nature detective at Beaulieu Motor Museum this Easter. There will be a wildlife treasure trail, animal-themed face painting, cress planting, bark rubbings and a giant tree carving between April 8 and 23. There will also be a quiz with clues to find cars with the names of birds, flowers and animals, while those visiting over the Easter weekend can also meet the Easter bunny and enjoy a chocolate treat. All Easter activities are included for free with general admission entrance, as well as rides on the monorail, vintage bus and Wheels attraction. Go Karts will also be back on the track throughout the Easter break.

There is an ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ with spring inspired crafts, games and an Easter egg picture hunt at Corfe Mullen Library on Wareham Road on April 10 from 11am until 12.30pm. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult. For more information cCall 01202 659755.

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is back at activity centre Avon Tyrell on Sunday, April 16. The hunt is opened to kids of all ages it will cost £5pp. There’s a hunt starting every hour from 10am to 1 pm.  

There will be Easter-themed activities at the giant hedge maze in Adventure Wonderland over Easter weekend with egg and spoon races and an Easter egg hunt each day. Children will get the chance to Meet Paw Patrol’s Skye and Marshall on April 19.

 The Park Easter Trail at Moors Valley Country Park takes place from April 8 to 28 between 10am and 3.30pm. For £1 per person little ones can hunt the forest for eggs and look for clues high up in the trees that might result into prizes.

Pet baby animals and get involved in Easter activities including four days of Easter hunts at Farmer Palmers. The ‘Eggcelent’ event takes place from April 14 to 17.

Corfe Castle, Kingston Lacy, Studland Beach, Brownsea Island will be hosting egg hunts this Easter. In partnership with Cadburys, the National Trust is hosting Easter trails for a price of £2.50. Visit their website for dates and more information.

Beatrix Potter character Peter Rabbit will be hopping to Christchurch on Saturday to meet children at Saxon Square.  He will be making appearances between 11am and 4pm to keep children entertained over the Easter weekend.  The mischievous bunny was created by Beatrix Potter more than 100 years ago. He will be available to meet children at 11am, 12noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

Go down the rabbit hole for some great family fun at Lulworth Castle from April 14 to 17 from 10.30am to 5pm. Expect themed trails, egg hunts, crafts, bouncy castle (weather permitting, age 7+), soft play for under 4s and even crazy golf. Plus, you can meet the Mad Hatter in the Castle whilst you’re exploring. Tickets include Free Parking. Adults £7, Child £5, under 4s free. Family Ticket (2 adults, 3 children) £25.

Everyone is invited to the interactive family events at Exbury Gardens over the Easter holidays. There will be bushcraft, storytelling, chocolate workshops and egg trails. Visit the Exbury website for dates and times, booking is necessary.

An ‘Eggstravaganza’ is taking place at the Highcliffe Castle from April 10 to 16 from 11am to 4pm. For £1 everyone can explore the Easter trail through the castle grounds and enjoy an eggy treat. 

An interactive Golden Easter Bunny Hunt is taking place across Bournemouth. From now until April 18, 10 golden bunnies will be moving around different businesses in the coastal area. They will hop between businesses every three days in an effort to highlight the variety of seaside shops, hotels and restaurants on offer to visitors. To take part in the competition, shoppers have to locate the bunnies and take selfies with them, which they need to share using#LoveBournemouthBunnies. Shoppers will then win a surprise gift from the hosting business.The Coastal BID is running the campaign in association with business in Westbourne, West Cliff, East Cliff, Boscombe, Pier Approach, Pokesdown, Tuckton, Southbourne, and Hengistbury Head.

A Kidzsing event will take place at Parkstone Baptist Church on Saturday. The Easter party will be held between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Entry is £6 per child or two for £10.

Charminster Library on Strouden Avenue are running Easter Toddler Tales where children under five can listen to stories, make a baby chick and Easter basket or Easter wreath and a happy bunny on April 11 and 18 at 2pm.
