The second annual Bournemouth Jazz Festival comes to town later this month.

The three-day event, which takes place between April 22 and 24, will see a host of international jazz artists and up-and-coming artists perform at a number of venues across the town.

Gerry Clarke, Bournemouth’s Jazz Festival director, said: “Our vision is to enhance Bournemouth’s cultural profile and increase its tourism appeal through the establishment of an internationally recognised jazz festival."

Here’s a guide to what’s happening.

3. A Jazz Village will be located in Bournemouth town centre where crowds will be entertained by a live music stand and be able to enjoy various food and drink stalls. There will also be a street jazz theme to build the atmosphere throughout town which will extend to Westbourne, Southbourne and Boscombe.

4. New this year, is a World Jazz Jamboree event which takes place at the Norfolk Hotel on Saturday, April 23. It will feature talented musicians from around the globe, including the Arun Ghosh Sextet, Musique a Trois, Veronique Joly and the Volcanic Latin Band.
