A BRAND new cider festival is set to take place in Wimborne this August.

The event, to be held at the Allendale Centre, will feature live music, a barbecue and a range of drinks for cider-lovers.

Organised by Fuelled By Cider, the festival - to run on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8 - is likely to become a regular event in the town.

Admission for each of the sessions is £6 in advance, to include two half-pints of cider and a pint glass, or £8 on the door.

On the Friday, the centre will open from 7pm until midnight, with music from Ben Gunn and the Junkyard Angels.

There will be two sessions on the Saturday, with the first beginning at noon and finishing at 5pm with music by John D Revelator.

The second will take place from 7pm until midnight, with performances by the Engineers and Benny Mayhem.

Tickets are now on sale.
