This week sees the launch of ‘Who’s Locked Up?’ a campaign led by Student Community Wardens from both the Students’ Unions at both Bournemouth University, and Arts University Bournemouth.

The aim of the campaign is to remind students to make sure their home is secure before leaving their property, whether that be before heading to University or going on a night out.

Community Wardens are working Dorset Police’s Safer Neighbourhood on the campaign, and will be out and about in the local community reminding students to keep their belongings safe.

Councillor Patrick Oakley was at the launch, as says the feedback he has received from residents have been positive.

Local people now feel more comfortable about having students living within their community. They've made a huge difference.

Chloe Schendel Wilson and Daniel Broadbent, Presidents of the Bournemouth and Arts University Bournemouth Students’ Unions respectively, were also keen to express how important the #WhosLockedUp? campaign is.

Speaking at the launch in Winton, Chloe was keen to express “students should always take care when leaving their property. It’s amazing how easy it is to leave a bathroom window open for example.”

The Community Wardens will be out across Winton over the next few weeks explaining to students how important that they ask the question #WhosLockedUp?
