A WOMAN caught behind the wheel while more than three-and-a-half times the drink-drive limit has been barred from the roads for five years.

Caroline Deakin, of Mistover Road in Wareham, was arrested on May 14 not far from her home.

She had 128 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35mg, making her 3.6 times the limit.

The 51-year-old admitted driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the prescribed limit at Poole Magistrates' Court on June 11.

She was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months and ordered to participate in an alcohol treatment programme for six months.

In addition, she must carry out a rehabilitation activity requirement for a maximum of 20 days, pay a £115 surcharge and £85 costs. Magistrates banned her from driving for 60 months for the offence.
