CATS, dogs and rabbits are all in need of forever homes in Dorset.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue is hoping to find new homes for the rescue animals in its care this week.

Ten-year-old feline Chooky is described by the staff as a sweet girl who is very vocal and loves to 'chat' to people.

She would need a forever home where she is the only pet, but she could live with older children in a quiet home.

Polo, who is around five years old, loves a fuss and has been known to sit on laps. She is looking for her own forever home as, until recently, she has been a stray. She would prefer to be the only pet.

Missie, 10, is a fairly independent cat and, once she gets to know someone, she is a very loving companion.

She would need to be in a home with no other pets and no children.

Continental Giant rabbit Floppy is looking for a new home with a vaccinated, neutered male as her companion.

The two-year-old bunny is very sweet natured, but she needs to have plastic bowls as she plays with them.

Two canines who need forever homes are Lenni and Nine.

Labrador and American bulldog cross Lenni is nearly two years old. He is described as bouncy and happy and is looking for an active, fun family who can take him on lots of exciting new adventures.

He can live with other dogs, possibly cats, and teenage children.

Finally, four-year-old small Whippet Nine is in need of a new family after being found as a stray in a poor condition.

He had a swelling under his chin caused by a leaking salivary duct so he is having an operation to remove it.

He would be happy to live with another dog and children but not cats.
