FOUR people on board a boat were towed to safety after its engine overheated.
RNLI Swanage volunteers were paged on Tuesday afternoon when a motorboat required assistance two nautical miles south of Durlston Head.
The boat's engine had overheated and the boat was being taken west from its position by the strong tide.
The lifeboat launched and caught up with the vessel south of Winspit.
The four people on board were assessed and found to be fine, and so the boat was towed back to shore.
