FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue two cows in separate incidents on Friday.

One cow, called Blossom, had become stuck in a bog up to her neck near Keysworth Drive in Wareham.

The fire service was made aware by the owner of the cow around 6.30pm.

Wareham fire crew and a technical rescue crew from Poole fire station attended and helped free Blossom from her predicament using technical rescue equipment, under the supervision of her vet.

Blossom was then reunited with Charlie the head of the herd.

Firefighters were also called to rescue a cow which was stuck in shallow water around 11.55am in Stalbridge Lane near Sturminster Newton.

They were also assisted by the technical rescue team from Poole.

The crews used strops and technical rescue equipment to release the cow from the water.
