THE A351 through Corfe Castle will be closed at night for two weeks while roadworks are carried out.

The work to resurface the road will take place between the A351 junction with the B3351 to Studland and its junctions with the B3069 to Kingston.

Dorset County Council said: "Due to the narrow road and the large vehicles used during the resurfacing the only way to carry out the work is with a road closure and - to minimise disruption to businesses and commuters - the best time is to work at night."

Working hours will be between 9pm and 6am each weekday from tomorrow night until Wednesday May 10.

On May 4, work will start at 10.05pm to ensure voters can access their polling station for the county council elections.

Residents have been warned the work will be noisy.

No work will be carried out on Saturday or Sunday nights.
