FIVE crews of firefighters were called to a fire at a residential school in Swanage.
The fire service was contacted just after 12.15pm with a report of an incident in a first floor bedroom of Purbeck View School in Northbrook Road, located a short distance from the beach.
Teams from Westbourne, Poole, Hamworthy, Swanage and Wareham attended the scene, along with some support vehicles and some officers, said a fire service spokesperson.
On arrival, the crews established that the fire involved an electrical item and some bedding which was extinguished using two sets of breathing apparatus, a hose, a mainline and a thermal imaging camera.
A spokesperson said that several crews were sent to the school as they could not determine whether everybody was out of the building.
She added that nobody was hurt as a result of the fire, which caused damage to some electrical components.
