A 76-year-old man is fighting for life after a crash in Wareham.
The man was walking in Howard's Lane on Tuesday morning when he was hit by a black Vauxhall Astra driven by a 70-year-old woman.
The Astra had travelled along North Street and turned left into Howard’s Lane when the collision occurred.
The pedestrian, a local man, sustained very serious head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is described as life-threatening.
The driver was uninjured. No arrests have been made.
Police Constable Kevin Adlem, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or the manner of driving of the Astra before the collision to please call me on 101.”
