SHOPPERS in Poole will have a new restaurant to visit when the latest Loungers eatery opens next week.

The Delfino Lounge will open in Falkland Square - where Hollywood Movie Cells used to be - on Wednesday, March 8.

It will create 25 new jobs, with the former shop unit having undergone a £546,000 transformation.

The new eatery will be a family-friendly venue with eclectic art work including a huge dolphin back bar mural, quirky objects, vintage sofas and old school benches all in the usual Lounger style.

And particular attention has been paid to families, with a selection of games and books, colouring pencils and pads, and a full menu just for children.

Alex Kreutz, operations manager, Loungers, said: “We’re already pretty well established in the area.

"Locals will probably have visited other Lounges in the family - Circo Lounge, Conto Lounge, Ludo Lounge and Cosy Club in Bournemouth and Arcado Lounge in Christchurch so we’re excited about bringing our unique style of lounging to Poole.”

A community notice board is available for those wanting to publicise events and a book swap area is kept well stocked.

The team will also be holding regular fund raising events as part of Loungers’ commitment to making a difference in the community.

The team have chosen to support Julia’s House, donating 50 pence from every burger and 10 pence from every coffee sold in month one of trading.

Julia’s House community fundraising manager, Laura Kelly, said: “We are delighted that Delfino Lounge has offered to fundraise for Julia’s House.

"The money they raise will be helping to support local families, making a real difference to the lives of mums and dads struggling to care for a life-limited child. We look forward to building a great partnership with the Delfino team."
