A COUPLE who bought three sheds for less than £400 are now trying to sell them off as beach huts for £20,000 apiece.

Clive and Jackie Greenaway, who live in Sandbanks, bought the sheds from Homebase last year for £125 each.

After spending a few months putting them together and painting them the pair have now decided to sell them off as beach huts at a staggering £20,000 per shed.

Unfortunately the expensive price tag doesn’t come with the sought-after view of Sandbanks beach that Clive and Jackie enjoy from their home in Chaddesley Wood Road.

Instead anyone interested in purchasing one of these huts will have to find somewhere else to put it and organise any permits with the relevant council.

According to Jackie the pair were just trying to find a way to make the front garden of their house “more inviting”.

“In the end we decided we would make our own beach huts,” added Jackie.

“We had a lot of fun putting them together - in particular picking the paint which was pink and blue to match our blue house.”

Clive, whose stage name as a magician is Clive St James, said they were inspired by the number of new beach huts being built along Poole and Bournemouth’s seafront.

The sheds are all five foot by three foot and empty inside.

And while some may think a £20,000 price tag is quite high for a shed, Jackie said they were cheaper than a number of other beach huts for sale in the area.

In Mudeford Spit beach huts have been known to sell for £250,000 - the same price as a four-bedroom house in some areas of the country. Meanwhile in Friars Cliff Christchurch 11 beach huts sold for £42,000 each within weeks of coming on the market.
