MORE than 600 properties were plunged into darkness on Sunday evening, following a power cut in the Poole Bay area.

Lights went out across the harbour from around 10pm.

Some 604 properties, in the BH15 area, were affected. Engineers were sent to the location of the fault and worked to restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible, said Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE) Networks.

According to the power company all supplied were back on by 11pm.

A SSE spokesman said: "We would like to apologise to our customers in the BH15 area for any inconvenience this power cut caused, and assure them we did everything we could to restore their supplies as safely and as quickly as possible."
